INVITATION: ''POETRY AGAINST TERROR''
- an Anthology Project (ebook)
______________________________________________
this is to invite you, Sophy Chen to be part of an Anthology Poetry Project, as we wish to publish an EBOOK of POEMS about (against) TERRORISM.
DEADLINE for sending a poem is DECEMBER 3, but
If you like to join, as we wish to have the book published before Christmas, I’m urging you to answer ''YES'' to this invitation BEFORE midnight Wednesday NOVEMBER 25.
On that date, without any answer, another poet will be invited, thus, a late reply could not be accepted.
About the ebook:
It will be an Anthology of 40 poems, each poem by one different poet (but also the original text will be added, in case the English text were a translation from another language, as there are poets from a number of countries) . Therefore, you are one of the 40 poets invited.
Should you answer ''YES, I'M IN'', you have to send me:
- 1 POEM of MAXIMUM 25 lines;
- your BIO (maximum 500 words, with year of birth and place where currently living) .
You have to send it to my email address:
Daniel Brick, Pamela Sinicrope and myself will decide, unanimously, if the poem is worth to be accepted for publication. Only poems of good quality will be accepted.
If the original text is in a language different from English, it can be sent along with the English text. The 2 texts will be published together, one after the other.
Important point: NO FEELINGS OF HATRED HAVE TO BE EXPRESSED IN THE POEM.
About the book:
Daniel Brick will write the INTRODUCTION.
A brief commentary on each poem will be added.
TITLE:
likely, 'POETRY AGAINST TERROR' - but it could be the 'subtitle', in case someone should offer a better one (so, if you have a better title, let me know, please) .
TIMING:
as I already said, the book has to be ready for publishing before Christmas. It means: December 20.
It is a real challenge.. a race against time.. for this reason, if you like to be 'IN', I need to get your poem before December 3.
Terrorism is a worldwide plague and all of us need to fight it as we can. As poets, we have to raise our voices and NOT give into the view we can’t have any real impact.
Then, please, SEND CONFIRMATION AS SOON AS YOU CAN
In any case, BEFORE midnight Wednesday 25!
Best regards
Fabrizio Frosini
(also on behalf of Daniel Brick and Pamela Sinicrope)

P.S.: I don't think you need any suggestion, but should you like some, you might select one or more aspects of the problem 'terrorism', like: psychological response to terrorism, a specific terror event that affected you, a poem to arouse the consciousness of society, analysis of the individuals involved in terror, problem solving, promoting hope/love/peace in the aftermath of terrorism...
